Frequently Asked Questions -
When can I enter the contest? Entries to the Caribbean Photo Contest may be submitted between November 1, 2009 and February 15, 2010 at 11:59 EST. -
Who can enter the contest? Any student enrolled at an accredited college or university between the ages 18-25 that speak the English language fluently. -
What are the photo categories? There are no categories in the 1st round of the competition. Photo categories only apply to those contestants that advance to the 3nd round of competition. -
How many photos may I submit? You may enter a total of five (5) images. -
What are the technical specifications for my photographs? Before you begin the submission process, please make sure your photograph/s meet the following requirements: Photographs must be in digital format. The original, unmodified camera image must be submitted with your entry. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this contest. JPG or JPEG file format (ex. YourImage.jpg or YourImage.jpeg) At least 1,800 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,800 pixels tall (if a vertical image) Total file size must be under 3 megabytes (MB) (3072 kilobytes [KB]) -
How will my photograph/s be judged? Contest consists of three (3) rounds of evaluation. Rounds One (1) and Three (3) are solely based on A) Creativity B) Photographic quality. Round Two (2) is Internet Voting and based on the contestants ability to garner as many votes as possible. -
Do photos have to be taken with a digital camera? The photo submitted does NOT have to be a digital photo from a digital camera. Any digital scan will do as long as the end result is a JPG or JPEG file. You may submit scans of negatives or transparencies or photographs taken with normal cameras.
